Frequently asked questions about glass walls

Frequently asked questions

How much space does the glass wall rail require depthwise?
The top rail for sliding doors is 85 mm deep, while the bottom rail is slightly narrower.

What measurements do you need for a offer?
To provide a offer for a glass wall, we only need the exact internal dimensions of the opening: width and height. We recommend measuring from several points to ensure accuracy. The final sizing of the sliding doors and the overlap between the doors are determined at the factory.

Can the bottom rail be installed on a floor with underfloor heating?

Yes. The bottom rail is attached using a strong and neat double-sided adhesive tape, so it can safely be installed on floors with underfloor heating.

The room where the glass wall will be installed has a height difference of about 10 mm. Would this be a problem if the doors go all the way from floor to ceiling?
The sliding door wheel mechanisms allow for at least +/- 10 mm adjustment, so the doors will still function well even if there is some variation in height. The doors are sized according to the average height of the opening and adjusted during installation.

If soft-close mechanisms are added, the maximum allowed variation is +/- 5 mm. If the difference is greater, we recommend levelling the opening beforehand.

Can you make a large, around 140 cm wide room divider door?
Yes. We manufacture room divider doors up to approximately 150 cm wide. Doors of this size require divider bars to strengthen the structure and make installation easier.

Our room height is approximately 290 cm. Can we get sliding doors that reach all the way to the ceiling?
Yes, using aluminium frame profiles, we can manufacture sliding doors up to 3.3 metres high.

Are soft-close mechanisms available for your sliding doors?
Yes. A soft-close mechanism is available for all our frame profiles. The mechanism catches the door before it reaches the edge of the cabinet and closes it gently. It also helps keep the doors more securely closed.

The sliding door must be at least 600 mm wide for a soft-close mechanism to be installed.

How much sound insulation do glass walls provide?

Our glass walls are made from 6 mm laminated glass, which provides some sound reduction. However, they are not fully soundproof, as small gaps remain between the sliding door elements due to the sliding mechanism, allowing sound to pass through.

Are glass walls suitable for families with children?

Yes. The sliding doors feature sturdy aluminium frames and 6 mm laminated safety glass. Laminated glass contains a safety film between two layers of glass. If the door were to break, for example during play, the glass fragments would remain attached to the safety film.

Do you offer fixed glass walls?

Yes. Sliding doors can be fixed in place using a stopper. Glass walls are highly versatile: they can function as fully fixed room dividers, fully movable sliding doors, or a combination of both.

Do you offer top-hung sliding doors without a bottom rail?

Yes. Our selection includes top-hung room divider doors that use a floor guide instead of a bottom rail to keep the door aligned. In this case, the door can move in front of the opening by the width of the door itself.

The maximum height of a top-hung room divider door is 2500 mm (2300 mm with vertical dividers), and the maximum width is 1200 mm.

Can steel frames be used in room divider doors?

We only use aluminium frames in our room divider doors. In aluminium frames, the wheel mechanism is hidden inside the frame, giving the sliding door a clean and finished appearance on both sides.
